The WRAIR Africa team led by the Director-Africa, Colonel Shannon Lacy, acknowledged the importance of the MoU, stating that it will provide guidance on HIV response going forward. Present: CO health Jane Kiok, CO Lucy Kashu, Chief of Staff, Francis Wanyeki

and the integration of HIV program to the comprehensive healthcare system through Universal Health Care. The Governor highlighted the progress made by the county in curbing the spread of HIV while at the same time acknowledging the support from WRAIR for the past 20 years.

The MOU presents three response pillars whereby the county government will take lead in the HIV response, a shift in funds resourcing from being heavily donor funded to domestic thereby improving access to Health Products and Technology (HPT) and response,

Narok County Government Signs HIV Response MoU with WRAIR - Africa Governor Patrick Ole Ntutu today received a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Narok County Government and WRAIR Africa to advance research and response to HIV within the county.

Infant mortality remains a challenge in Kenya. @CHAMPS_Health, w/ @KEMRI_Kenya & @HJFMRIKenya, collects data to better understand preventable causes of infant deaths and implement initiatives tailored to address specific issues through the “data to action” component of the study.
