True: 0. Too many people who call themselves "AI researchers" or "AI experts" are neither. 1. Being an AI researcher does not qualify one to predict the effects of AI on humanity and society. 2. Someone's opinion on the effect of technology on society often reveals the person's negative opinion of the political system. Leftists fear that technology will increase inequalities and make the powerful more powerful. Libertarians and democracy advocates fear that technology will be used to spy on people and will enable authoritarians. People afraid of other people fear it will enable bad actors and terrorist groups. Pacifists fear it will be used by the military for nefarious purposes. Social conservatives fear it will corrupt the youth and lead to moral decay.
