At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, we will remember them. On Sunday HMS Forward paraded at the Service of Remembrance in Birmingham to remember the sacrifices that others made.

Earlier this week we hosted the West Midland Reserve Forces & Cadets Association in aid of IWD, and celebrated the successes of women across the West Mids. #IWD25

At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, we will remember them. Members of HMS Forward commemorated Remembrance Sunday both in the UK and deployed overseas.

Along with the celebrations we showed our guests some of the equipment and facilities we use to deliver training in the unit, while our RMR, and URNU colleagues were on hand to explain the broader work that happens at HMS FORWARD. @RMRBirmingham @URNUBirmingham

We were honoured to host the Lord Mayor of Birmingham, the Mayors of Wolverhampton, Solihull and Dudley, and the West Midlands Deputy Lieutenant, showcasing the best of the RNR to them. @BrumLordMayor @WolvesMayor @solihullmayor @dudleymbc @WMLieutenancy

We recently celebrated FORWARD 40, marking the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the current HMS FORWARD. We invited local dignitaries, family, friends and associations to mark the date, and FORWARD’s contribution to the local community.

AB Tom Nolan is a firefighter and Royal Naval Reservist from @HMSPresidentRNR.   Through the @RoyalNavy Reserve, he’s gained skills for life, such as leadership, communication, and the ability to solve problems in high-intensity situations. #AFW24 #ReservesDay #SaluteOurForces

Yesterday marked 79 years since VE Day, the end of the Second World War in Europe. PO Matthews and LH Anton from HMS FORWARD joined other serving personnel, veterans and the wider community in Wolverhampton to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

This #AnzacDay we stand shoulder to shoulder with our shipmates in #Australia and #NZ, and we remember SLt Arthur Tisdall VC, who joined the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve at @HMSPresidentRNR, and landed with the #RoyalNavalDivision at #Gallipoli on this day in 1915 #LestWeForget

Congratulations to S/Lt Woolley on his promotion! Promotion to S/Lt marks a major milestone in a Reserve Officer’s career and one that was celebrated on Tuesday’s training night where SLt Woolley was presented with his ‘stripe’ by the CO. BZ!

URNU Birmingham were proud to represent the Royal Navy today at @BCFC by celebrating and remembering those who have served and sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.

Yesterday AB Zoe McGillivray-Hackett also reunited with a friend of HMS FORWARD, PO Instructor Sharon Burford (Sea Cadet Corps), while taking part in the Remembrance service at the National Memorial Arboretum, Staffordshire. #lestweforget @RNReserve

This weekend, as communities throughout the United Kingdom paused to remember those who served and sacrificed for their Nation, @RoyalNavy and @RoyalMarines #Reservists turned out in force alongside Regulars and as sole representatives from the Senior Service 🫡 #LestWeForget

Elsewhere in the #WestMidlands, Surgeon Commander Stuart Roberts paid his respects by representing the @RNReserve at a #Remembrance event in #Solihull. Here he is pictured alongside an old friend of HMS FORWARD, former Petty Officer Mal Teague.

This weekend, HMS FORWARD Ship’s Company turned out to honour the fallen in #Remembrance ceremonies across the #westmidlands. This morning a platoon from the Unit paraded through #Wolverhampton for the city’s annual Armistice commemoration.

HMS FORWARD was honoured to represent the @RNReserve at the @WFCOfficial #Remembrance fixture yesterday. Members of the Ship’s Company paid their respects amongst thousands of fans and laid a wreath prior to kick off.
