There’s no way people are enjoying these new F1 regs. Overtaking in first 10 or so laps, then nothing for 1.5 hours whilst cars randomly turn off every now and again. That’s assuming the car can even start the GP.

@Cpt_Short Not at all, but I’m wondering what the real fix is, as you haven’t provided one. Why are we now discussing deer accidents in the US? Why not keep it kangaroo in Australia accidents? You’ve suggested they aren’t doing enough to prevent this happening, yet can’t offer a solution

Not the first Kangaroo to meet it's end at Bathurst but my god some of the images of the aftermath are gruesome. I hope next year we have some extra protections because Christopher Mies could very well have been killed.

@Cpt_Short List the drivers that have died in a sanctioned race at Bathurst due to hitting a kangaroo. There are zero, but there are drivers who have died in crashes with other drivers and walls, do we impose a speed limit?

@HMagerstein Race full of yellow flags or a dead driver? Pick one. Listen I'm not saying it's an easy problem to solve, but I think we're reaching a point where status quo isn't cutting it.

@Cpt_Short Every occasion of a driver hitting a roo in the 1000 has occurred during the daytime. If you had a FCY procedure every time there was a roo in the grounds (which is mostly private property by the way) you would be looking at a race full of yellow flags.

@HMagerstein I mean one precaution is to wait for daylight so the drivers have a chance to see them. There may also be a way to automate a FCY procedure if one is spotted inside the grounds. I don't think you can completely prevent them getting in but there are always ways to improve further

@Cpt_Short They are putting up fencing, and doing constant sweeps of the area to remove any wildlife present. There really isn’t much else to do outside of not holding the race at all.

@HMagerstein I truly don't know because they supposedly had fencing up and they just jump over it. But given this, the wallaby on Friday and the near-miss in the last 1000, I think they need to try something else at least because it's becoming a serious hazard to the drivers

@Veridri @Bathurst12hour How do you propose that happens? Are you aware of the challenges presented by surrounding land, kangaroos being able to jump any temporary fencing around the entire grounds of the track, and the sheer abundance of kangaroo in the area?
