#GeorgianJewelry Not all sentimental or mourning jewelry has hair. This pearl ring has a carved floral cameo, flanked with pearls, and peals as part of the openwork shoulders. The interior of the band is inscribed "Thomas Conway 10 July 1833".

#GeorgianJewelry This C 1790 natural pearl necklace has a cupid’s bow and arrows and a hymeneal torch (named after Hymen, the Greek goddess of marriage), and is suspended by a ribbon and ivy leaves that represent eternity, and has a diamond border suspending a pearl drop.

#GeorgianJewelry Aigrettes were worn in the hair and most were mounted en tremblant, meaning “to tremble”. The stones are connected to something that acts like a spring to create movement. This diamond one has blue enamel in the shafts of the diamond feathers.

#GeorgianJewelry Aigrettes don't have to just be diamonds. This c 1810 one held by the V&A has diamonds, turquoises, an emerald, and other colored stones.

#GeorgianJewelry This early 19th century diamond aigrette is designed as a posy of flowers, grasses and a peacock feather tied by a ribbon. It's mounted en tremblant, which means it's mounted so it trembles slightly as the wearer turns their head.

#GeorgianJewelry An aigrette gets its name because it resembles the feathers and plumes on top of the head of an egret. This one c mid 18th century has been converted to a brooch. It's chrysoberyls in the form of a spray of four feathers bound together by a ribbon.

#GeorgianJewelry This c 1820 engraved gold locket pendant holds two color hair locks in the shape of feathers held are together by gold wire. Just because it has hair, doesn't mean someone died. What brunette and blond couple are forever entwined here?

#GeorgianJewelry C1780 locket in the shape of a heart with a garnet a bow. I'm not sure if this is glass or rock crystal. The heart represents love, the bow eternity and loyalty. What Austen lady is this perfect for?

#GeorgianJewelry Lockets for March! This c 1800 has a floral and braided motif of diamonds on top of blue enamel. The painting shows a baby in a forest playing with a pigeon. It might have been a gift commemorating a birth.
