No one got drafted because they played in this showcase or that showcase..or on this team or that team. They got drafted because of the body of work THEY put in across many different areas (high school, travel ball, JUCO, college, etc). It’s weird that there’s people out there doing anything other than congratulating these young men on getting drafted.

@AndersonLMiller Pros do not take less rest than teenagers. Not even close. I don’t know many teenagers playing 120-162 games a year. I generally agree with the overall premise though for sure.

Nobody gets less of a break from playing games than athletes ages 13-17, and it is completely ass backwards. Pros take more rest than teenagers. playing tournaments Tuesday through Sunday out of a hotel is a pretty tough environment to actually develop in.

@DustinLMcComas Had him sitting 94-95 on Trackman at the academy a couple weeks ago in a pen. He’s never just pitched, and when he dedicates himself to it he will sit upper 90’s with elite secondary stuff

Had electric arm speed in high school, could spin breakers and was a real two-way before some elbow issues his senior year. Good scouting to take a chance.

The Brewers drafted Chase Mora, who broke Paul Goldschmidt’s all-time home run record at Texas State, in the ninth round. He threw one inning of relief in a 19-3 game, touched 98 mph and the Brewers drafted him as a pitcher. He’ll probably be an all-star.

@OKBE2023 Anyone in the baseball industry knows that Tyler Johnson is an absolute stud. An ace recruiter, and probably the next head coach. Any backlash is coming from morons who don’t know their head from their ass.

I’m not sure I understand the reasoning behind the backlash in Skip hiring his son Tyler Johnson? I have read everything from he sucks to he hasn’t done anything to I don’t know anything about him. The biggest argument has been the nepotism aspect. The guy has done well. 131-55 record, conference and regional titles, multiple trips to the JuCo World Series. While I don’t think they are bringing him as a lead recruiter. They all recruit. He has an eye for talent. Jimmy Crooks, Deiten LaChance, Brett Squires and Gavyn Jones are all guys recruited and developed under Tyler who then became Sooners. Patty Gasso seems to have done well working with her son. Why can’t Skip do the same? Skip just won a national championship…he can do whatever he wants. Why don’t we give the guy a chance before we crucify him yeah?
