Gurdwara Bangla Sahib carries a deeply moving history rooted in Seva, Sacrifice, and Spiritual unity. Originally known as Jaisinghpura Palace, the site belonged to the Rajput ruler Raja Jai Singh of Amber. In 1664, he invited the eighth Sikh Guru, Guru Har Krishan Saheb Ji, to stay there during his visit to Delhi. At the time, the city was suffering from devastating outbreaks of smallpox and cholera. Despite his young age, the Guru devoted himself to serving the sick, offering comfort, food, and water from the palace well, which devotees later regarded as sacred for its healing association. Guru Saheb eventually contracted the illness himself and passed away in Delhi in 1664. In his memory, the palace was dedicated as a sacred shrine. In 1783 Sikh general Sardar Baghel Singh established a Gurudwara here, transforming it into Gurdwara Bangla Saheb.
