Pig FAQ #31: What’s the longest pipeline your pigging systems can pig? HPS has a wealth of experience and expertise in installing long pipe runs. For example, HPS provided a pigging solution for a bottled water company in Canada that is over 1km in length. #pigging

Pig FAQ #30: Are All #Pigging Systems Designed Hygienically? There are some cases where hygienic pigging systems aren’t required. The majority of HPS systems and components are designed hygienically, which minimises contamination risks and allows for efficient CIP processes.

Pig FAQ #28: How Long Does a Pigging System Take to Install? There’s no clear-cut answer on how long it takes to install a #pigging system. As a general guide, a simple single-pig system takes an average of 2-3 days to install and commission.

Pig FAQ #26: How does a #pigging system detect pig location? HPS AccuTects are non-intrusive to the product line and can detect the pig’s magnetic field through stainless steel pipes. The signals are then used for tracking and control systems.

Pig FAQ #25: What do I do if a pig gets stuck? If a pig doesn’t reach its destination, there’s always a logical reason. Typical causes are lack of air pressure, pipeline faults, leakage from a pipe connection, or an obstruction such as a closed valve in front of the pig.
