Heilman’s Performance Hitting

Started taking more video to help program a plan for each hitter. Saw Hank was just falling forward & changing many levels in his swing. Had him work on a couple pre-set stride positions to better control that move out. This is Day 1 to Day 2 progress. Nice work Hank!

Our guys all working on things they need/want to work on. Bennett w/ some long PVC patterning, Greek working on staying connected w/ the plyowall, Landon working on his hands & Cars doing some arm care. What do you want to get better at & what do you need to get better?

With our added space it’s allowed our athletes to work on what they need/want to. Cages open for swinging & the plyo wall for some ground ball work.

Ol’ Mr. Foss has come quite a long ways in just getting his body to do what he wants to & in the right order. His swing is becoming much better than his dance moves.

Walked him through the drill. Obviously had some struggles, showed him the video and talked about turning under his head. Clicked right after.

Awesome to see Adrian find how to control his turn with his bigger muscles & let that energy transfer to his hands @ the right time. Picked up quick after checking video & doing some movement work on turning under his head.

We will probably dive a littler deeper than “get your foot down” & “stay back” when this type of information is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to how the body moves.

Had Haeven doing a little top hand work to try to control that direction a little longer. Super quick bat with minimal pre-swing movement so we only have a couple of things to work.

Been working with Kami on creating tension in the right places at the right times & letting it rip. Super loose mover but she’s getting more comfortable & is working hard. She’s actually spoke to me at least 3x now in our last 10+ hours of hitting. Progress. #hittingtwitter

“Why are you videoing us?!?” My group of 1st graders can be a bit much sometime, but their enthusiasm is contagious. Trying to turn them loose & launch some baseballs into the sky.

First day with 10 year old Darby. Set her up on the high-T to see how she likes to turn her barrel. She’ll get there because she is pumped to hit & get better. We are too, Darby!

Had the girls doing some shuffle Tee to encourage some athleticism & aggressiveness into their swings. Showed up with very controlled & careful swings. Trying to get more comfortable moving quickly with some intent to do damage!

With the gym buzzing we had Tucker working on his sequencing. Want him to get his lower half going before his upper. Had Aydan work on separating his lower half from his upper. Little movement work in between sets of swings.

Started Tucker in a half-kneel on the tee to force him to get his backside more engaged. Idea is to try to create a better connection with the floor.

Aydan’s doing some tee work with a little road map on barrel direction. Working from behind & inside the ball trying to control the direction of our barrel for as long as we can.
