Earlier this year, I introduced A.8191/S.7985 alongside @SenGonzalezNY, a bill that would allow New York State to establish a continuation-of-care program for people who rely on gender-affirming care. Once this program is created, it would identify providers and offer them funding and resources to support their mission. Now more than ever, this legislation is essential to ensuring that everyone receiving life-saving treatment can continue to access it. Recently, @NewYorkStateAG Letitia James joined several other states in a lawsuit against the Trump administration, as hospitals and healthcare providers begin to cut gender-affirming care. I applaud the Attorney General’s efforts to stand up for our most vulnerable communities here in New York State, as we all continue to lead in ensuring access to essential healthcare for all. This bill will save lives, and I look forward to advancing it further in 2026.
