@KennyWhite3 @SaffronOlive WotC has shifted to a "quantity over quality" approach. They used to spend time and effort making a few really great products each year. Now they just shovel out as much junk as they can, because even if the gameplay sucks, somebody will buy it if they slap a crossover IP on it.

@SaffronOlive What was so different before? Why was Standard so much more popular in the past, say 10 years again, than it is now?

I know Wizards theory is that three year rotation is going to make people feel safe buying Standard cards, but it seems like in practice all the unintended consequences of the change might be causing it to have the opposite effect.

@GavinVerhey As a Vorthos who enjoys Magic lore, Universes Beyond feels like a slap in the face. I haven't purchased cards since it was announced that they are legal in all formats; please consider creating a UB-free format so I can enjoy the game I've loved for 20 years again.

@GavinVerhey As a Vorthos, I feel extremely betrayed by WotC right now. I understand that Universes Beyond sells well and attracts new faces, but why are there now zero formats where we can just enjoy pure Magic lore? I played for 20 years, I'll be back when I can play just Magic again.

@wizards_magic I keep hearing players say "I hate what's happening to the game, but not enough to quit Magic". That's exactly what WotC is counting on as they continue to sling out low-quality UB garbage. The only hope of getting back the game we love is to vote against this with our wallets.

@wizards_magic In all seriousness, this should be seen as an opportunity. Pick an upcoming UB set where you have to do the work for Omenpaths anyway and release the paper version of that too, see how it sells compared to the UB version.

@TandyMTG I was so ready for this, then they announced UB would be Standard legal and my excitement was shattered. I'm a Vorthos and I play out every game in my head like a movie; I simply can't enjoy it that way when it's going to be littered with commercials for all these other IP's

@TrashBoat321123 Neat! Saheeli, the Sun's Brilliance might be an interesting include; while slower than Molten Duplication, it would enable you to find all of your combo pieces off of Collected Company, and possibly set the deck up to be an Eldritch Evolution toolbox like the old Modern Kiki deck

🏆#1 of the MKM Season with UR Atraxativity, did not drop a Game 😯 This 60 feels very solid so far. Having a way to hardcast Atraxa solves a lot of problems! The SB is a bit experimental, more testing is needed.

@fakejakebrowne I felt the Khans experience was enhanced when you played in your pod. With wedge color requirements, you were doubly rewarded for picking up fixing early and keeping it from your opponents. That aspect of the draft is lost when you're playing randoms in leagues.
