thanks for those who are asking about me: life’s good! One month into raising my first baby and life is finally starting to get into a little bit of a rhythm for the first time. It was hella hard at first and had to lean on people to talk me through it but lately things are better. I’m still learning how to be a mom and he’s learning how to be the cutest fat chonk baby in the world.
I am surprising myself with how much I like it- I’m not one of those girls who played with baby dolls and always wanted to be a mom and I was worried I would be bad at it or not enjoy it, but life is beautiful and surprising. I still am very much myself and even go for hikes with him while I recover!
Phillip is an amazing dad and we tag team so that he can slip away to play golf or I can go have a glass of wine with friends. Our moms are obsessed with him and come around a lot too.
I’m loving this phase and am looking forward to even more life balance as well as continuing my career and hobbies that I love so much!
Oh and look for more cosplays out of my in the future- big ones and tiny baby ones both 😆
@Robot_Gigg1es Aaaawww!! He’s so cute!! Congratulations to you and Daddy Robot!! They are so much fun and while I know that parenting can be challenging, it is a wonderful and rewarding experience! Enjoy!!
@YogomiHQ@lofreeco The Gerald65 from Paper Crane Keyboards is a great option too (WARNING: I have a strong personal interest in this one 😁)
Seriously though, I will DM you and if you like it, I will have one sent to you.
I had a dream that I got asked to do the Superbowl half time show, and they're like "can you sing?" and I said "ehhh kinda" (thinking in my head that I'd like to take the money and I'd "give it a shot") How bad could it be? I thought. Surely they know I'm not Beyonce and they'll find it endearing.
So I got up there, and forgot every word. So I started singing "Time to Say Goodbye" but making up words like in StepBrothers. And i gave it my ALL. And collapsed on the stage waiting for the applause.
and then
boos. an angry crowd booing me off the stage. I was humiliated. Why did I say yes to doing the half time show? Oh yea, the money.
No moral. Just thought I'd share.
3 years ago today we hit the off switch on @WatchMixer
what am I doing today for the anniversary? sitting alone on a Seattle beach, holding claim to a bonfire pit and waiting for the old Mixer fam to join up later
@garywal@WatchMixer After I left, I stopped by the grocery store to pick up some things. On my way in, one of the workers noticed my shirt and commented on it. Turns out that he had streamed on Mixer too and knew all about it, he and his co-worker both wish it was still around to counter Twitch
so uh… pretty big announcement (for me, anyway) I’m pregnant! Phillip and I are expecting our first child this February 5th.
I am sick and tired and happy and scared and excited and peaceful and worried and happy.
Wish us luck 🤍
@skatieb@brennadactyl A tactical nuclear strike might be the safest option… 😂
C’mon little spider buddies! It’s nothing against you but when you jump out and go “SURPRISE!!” like that it really messes with us.
@ProbablePrime I have a Prusa i3 mk3 and absolutely love it! If you remember Dan from my old team, he had a Creality (???) and loved his. Curious to find out where you land
@ProbablePrime That is so frustrating! I have (knocks on wood) been fairly lucky in this regard and never had a clogged extruder. Any luck on narrowing down what is causing this?
@Sacheverell I know that some people are affected by the foods they eat…that tends not to be the case for me unless I really overdo it: coffee, tomato sauce, wine are things that some people can be very sensitive to. Someone suggested a food log, which is a great idea!
@Sacheverell Zantac (probably 2x daily) or Prilosec (Omeprazole) or Prevacid (Lansoprazole) are very effective at controlling GERD when taken correctly. I heavily recommend talking to your doctor and getting strarted on them…untreated GERD can lead to a lot of nasty things in the future.
@Sacheverell Exercise, stress, diet, and alcohol are all major inputs to control (not including meds, which I’ll get to). I can do pretty well letting any 2 go to hell in hand basket. But if all 4??? Yeesh…that’s not a fun time for me.
