Viviek Dixit, the petitioner filed the plea as his 80-year-old father was bed ridden & needed to withdraw money for urgent medical expenses. Dixit's mother is 75. Both of them were refused withdrawals from #PMC. They were told the withdrawal limit was Rs. 1000 as set by #RBI.

A plea has been filed in the SC challenging the RBI circulars restricting the withdrawal of money from co-op banks. The plea also challenges section 35A of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949 and section 16(1) of the Deposit Insurance Credit Guarantee Corporation Act, 1961.
