We were pleased to host Dr. Matthew Teeter, who presented the 2026 HSS Distinguished Research Lecture. Thank you for the insightful discussion on how CT-based RSA and PET imaging can improve assessment of implant fixation, loosening, and outcomes in TKA.

We greatly enjoyed participating in the Cornell BMI Winter Immersion program, where 10 undergraduates were able to take a tour of the Biomechanics lab!

Congrats to Dr. Carl Imhauser and Post Bac Researcher Isbaella Gomez Hjerthen, who will be presenting their work focusing on musculoskeletal and orthopedic applications of simulation at at this year’s ‘MaGIC Meeting’ in Wisconsin focusing on Simulation Based Engineering!

Congratulations to Biomechanics alum Bobby Kent on earning his MD/PhD from the University of Michigan. His thesis: “Spatiotemporal Control of Tendon Healing through Modular, Injectable Hydrogel Composites.” Next stop: Ortho Surgery residency at the University of Minnesota!

We were pleased to host Germana Bahr, General Director of Instituto Nacional de Traumatologia e Ortopedia in Brazil, to tour our laboratory. We have long collaborated with the effort to begin a national retrieval program in Brazil; which is now functional with > 800 devices!
