@HTBF1968 Letting the UN, which has a formal agreement with the ICC, decide which countries are good and evil is a really bad idea. Like retarded. All of our institutions that were built on the optimism after ww2 to make the world better have been infiltrated and used against us.

Rubio just announced a formal campaign to "dismantle" the International Criminal Court "brick by brick," pressuring U.S. allies to withdraw from it entirely. The stated reason is sovereignty. The unstated context: this comes right after boat strikes off Venezuela that have killed 200+ people, ongoing conduct questions from the Iran war, and three sitting ICC judges now suing the U.S. over sanctions. When a government starts dismantling the court that might scrutinize its own actions, "sovereignty" is doing a lot of work in that sentence.

@dorkburger84 People flatten the use too much. Having AI write your research paper is clearly a bad thing but I don't understand the resistance to using it for research or as an editor. I can't hire an editor to review everything I write and if I read it myself I always miss something.

There's an interesting divide forming between those who see AI as a tool for making life easier and those who think using it - in any way - is wrong. Is there another tool that creates this kind of divide? "I can't believe you Googled it! You should have gone to the archives!" "What do you mean you don't make your own paper?" @heterodoxan International law is largely an illusion. Strong nations do what they want and the weaker ones align themselves as they see fit. However, to argue that the ICC is a threat to US sovereignty is farcical.

@HTBF1968 People all over the world expect the US to keep them safe, and they largely contribute nothing to the effort anymore. Now international bodies mostly serve the CCP in undermining democracies and expanding transnational narcotics trafficking. Not helpful.
