Harding Honors College

The Honors College service project is complete! Thank you to everyone who contributed to the project. It was a success!

As the weather warms up more, be sure to enjoy some of the wonders that Arkansas has to offer, like our hiking opportunities! Sugarloaf, Pinnacle, and Petit Jean all offer gorgeous sights and fun trails to hike.

Congratulations to the Harding students who delivered excellent presentations at the 2021 Great Plains Honors Council Conference: Alontis Andress, Mary Grace Golden, Emory Malone, Nathan McClaran, John David Stewart, Laura Faye Weber, & Alicen Wilcox!

Why do we celebrate someone called St. Patrick, and what does the shamrock have to do with it? Ireland's national flower is the shamrock, a three-leaf clover, and legend has it that St. Patrick used it to explain the Trinity to a non-believer.

Classes are back in session! Although there seems to be quite a while before the semester ends, know that you have already made it halfway through. We are so proud of all of you!

As our students begin to make the journey back to campus, we want to remind everyone to be safe while traveling and that we miss you! We look forward to seeing all our students again.

Although spring break seems to last only for the blink of an eye, we are blessed to be able to have some time off. Take time to relax!

This crisp spring air is so nice! On campus, nature is blooming and we are enjoying the sights. What are you seeing during your spring break?

Spring break is almost here! Midterm tests and projects can be challenging, but relief is on the horizon. Keep hanging in there!

Thank you to Hannah Hood for her design work on our Honors College masks, stickers and t-shirts! New masks are available for purchase - $3 with cash app or exact change. We also have t-shirts- $10 in L, XL, XXL sizes. Replacement masks are available at the Honors House.

From 1-5 this afternoon, the Honors House will be open! Come by to study in a cozy house with a limited number of students and 25¢ drinks, plus comfy chairs and a warm fireplace. What a great place to study!

Congratulations to Morgan Proffitt! Morgan has been granted a prestigious Seminary Fellowship as she pursues a Master of Divinity program at the Princeton Theological Seminary. Only 12 admitted students receive this lucrative award, which provides full-tuition plus $4,000.

Congrats to Laura Faye Weber and Mary Grace Golden for presenting for the Society for Personality and Social Psychology Convention! Golden presented preliminary findings from her honors thesis, which will be completed next year, and Weber from her honors capstone project.

Look at what just a week of difference can make! The Honors House was covered in snow last week and is now surrounded by what might be the beginning of spring. We are glad to be back with the student and look forward to your visits!

The mid-week slumps are always difficult to navigate, but we have faith in our students! It can be rough to work through the weeks in the middle of the semester, but you are doing a wonderful job of it. Keep it up!

Happy Valentine's Day! This is a holiday about love, God's greatest command for and gift to us. Remember to tell your parents and friends just how much they mean to you! "Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things." (1 Corinthians 13:7)

Week 5 is over! We have made it through one-third of the semester. Congratulations on your hard work! We at the Honors College admire students' dedication to excellence and want to assist you however we can. Honors students, don't forget the extra amenities that we offer!

We have made it halfway through week 5! Tests are upon us and midterms are coming up fast. Remember that you can come to the Honors House to study or just relax. We are here for you!

Week 5 is here. The semester has kicked into gear and we are going full-steam ahead! As you complete assignments and study for tests, don't forget about the big projects down the line. We know that all of our students are working hard, and we applaud you for it!
