I have a great story from this movie. It’s about Val Kilmer and Danny Trejo. My aunt’s sister was married to Danny so I heard it from my cousins. On set one day Val walks in with this bitchin’ white leather jacket and Danny says to Val man that’s a great jacket. Val says thanks. The jacket is 10K from Paris. The next day Danny comes to the set and in his locker is the white leather jacket, a gift from Val. Supposedly Val ordered a new one from same shop in Paris and had it overnighted for Danny. How cool is that?!

A deleted scene in Heat reveals exactly what happened to getaway driver Trejo, and why he couldn’t join McCauley and his crew for the bank robbery. In the film, Trejo calls from a payphone and claims he couldn’t shake the LAPD’s tail. But the deleted scene reveals that call was made under duress: Waingro and Van Zant’s men had already broken into his home and kidnapped his wife. The scene shows Trejo returning home to find them waiting. It also reveals that Hugh Benny, played by Henry Rollins, was the one who tipped off the LAPD about the robbery.

Tebow made it clear he wasn't defending Hernandez's actions. Instead, he said there were moments the public never saw… times when Hernandez struggled, tried to change, and endured racist abuse that was left out of the headlines. He recalled one incident that was widely portrayed as Hernandez looking for trouble. According to Tebow, they had actually been trying to leave when people repeatedly insulted, dehumanized, and provoked Hernandez before he finally snapped. Tebow's point wasn't that Hernandez was innocent. It was that even people who commit terrible crimes are still human beings, and their stories should be told truthfully, not selectively.

That's an oversimplification. Greek mythology is foundational to European culture and can't simply be dismissed as historical fiction. And for that matter who says that anyone of any race can be cast in films based on fiction? No one would cast white actors to play the central characters in a film adaptation of The Colour Purple. It would destroy all credibility.
