@Haadonn @notasiwould Cavs were better with Harden on then off, sure. Cavs had no chance of winning a title once they traded for Harden and he became the ball dominant pg. Its why his only shot to win was when CP3 was in Hou. Forced him to not JUST be the system.

How bad does your confirmation bias have to be to get the stats showing Harden had the same usage as Mobley and damn near 10% less than Mitchell and come to the conclusion that they’re playing “Harden ball or nothing else”

This is considered a Donovan problem, and to me it's absolutely a consdquence of having to play Harden ball because he can not and will not play any other way. Donovan I think is a terrific playmaker, and he shifted into more off-ball tip of the spear because they went to Harden ISO hunting. Harden has to become more of an off-ball guy. Mitchell is the engine, and injured or not, removing him from that limits his impact

They had a 116 offensive rating when he played, which would be the 3rd best in the playoffs

@Haadonn @notasiwould They performed the best when he was on the court, but was adding harden the best option for their title hopes? Hes a hof player, but his elevation of the team and others is questionable, and forcing teams to play HIS style of ball dominant play is a negative.

Wade was very good defensively tbf though. By far the best defensive option the Cavs had at the POA

@GarlandEnjoyer The Cavs scored more points when he was out there than any other player. Which is the goal of a basketball player. His points don’t matter- it’s the team that matters.

@notasiwould How much of a stat watcher do you have to be... harden offers nothing when he's not on ball. No offball effort, no defense, minimal catch and shoot because of the lazy offball attitude. You can say mitchell was a problem but this has always been Hardens.

Ehhhh. I def am not a Harden defender(especially over Donovan) but he got caught with a lot of grenade balls as well. I get Harden is easy to pick on, but calling Donovan a "terrific" playmaker is extreme. We also have to be fair here, there were multiple games where Donovan could not physically carry that load in the playoffs

It's often forgotten that in Game 6 without CP3, the Rockets raced out to a 39-22 lead, still led 60-51 at the half, and finished the game with 86 points and lost by 29.
