Final repost of my analytical wishlist for the 2025–26 season. Updating monthly. • From bottom-3 defensive team to bottom-10 defensive team on 5v5. • From bottom-5 PP chance creators to avg. • From bottom-7 PK chance reductors to avg-ish. • Less penalties taken. #GoHabsGo

@HabsDepression You're using a different sample size. Mine is just from the Olympic break on, and, as mentioned, just an indication of how the bottom-6s have performed since. The data I used here is basically: • Danault+Evans+everyone • Danault+no Evans+everyone • Evans+no Danault+everyone

You cannot just use 2 players as a reference. You need to look at all the players in the bottom 6 and their line combos xGoals% Dach-Evans-Bolduc : 61.4% in 74.6 mins Anderson-Danault-Gallagher : 41.1% in 150 mins Anderson-Evans-Gallagher : 44.3% in 110.6 mins Gallagher-Danault-Bolduc : 43.7% in 59.4 mins Texier-Evans-Anderson : 38.9% in 56 mins Texier-Evans-Bolduc : 73.2% in 36.5 mins It seems like theres a pattern. Anderson and Gallagher hurt the team when they are on the ice. Evans, Bolduc, Texier and Dach are net positives when they play Danault simply for his faceoffs and Blais should replace Anderson and Gallagher in the bottom 6 if the Habs want the best chance at winning

Took a look on how the bottom-6s of the teams in the playoff race have performed since the Olympic break using two players per team as points of reference. The results are somewhat indicative as I couldn't use the 3C/4C combo for every team, but the #GoHabsGo look fine.

@SBrooks_77 @RiseFromTheAshZ I'd say that Danault's and Evans' lines have played against fitting matchups lately. The 2nd hasn't, and that's made Suzuki's job a bit harder, but not absolutely insane. (Pics from PuckIQ showing MTL's and TB's QoC since the Olympic break.)

@HabsFinn @RiseFromTheAshZ Yup and thats not good lol. If danault/evans were getting easier matchups their numbers would boost up too. Adding to the 2nd line will also likely move newhook kap down to the bottom 6 improving it. I think habs will again take another big step next year.

Yeah Carrier plays a relatively unique style. He's at least solid in most areas but his skills really shine as a transition defender. His active stick and 1v1 pressure allow him to disrupt entries and prevent chances against off the rush fairly often. 📈 LB-Hockey.com

@Louis_Boulet_ Alex Carrier's raw advanced stats are somewhat all over the place depending on the model used, so bring it on.

@SBrooks_77 @SlafCaufZukes +1.1 xGA/60 to the 2nd-worst player on the team is rockstar stuff, even if there's most likely some bad luck related included.

The #GoHabsGo expected goals stats since the Olympic break (TOI ≥ 100 minutes). I believe in Jake Evans supremacy.

@SlafCaufZukes And in my heyday I beat the current fastest man in Finland in the 60m dash, and the current long jump and triple jump record holders in long jump and triple jump. Too bad the heyday was at age 12–18.

@SlafCaufZukes Well, 72% xG share if you count in the 9 minutes from the latest in which Anderson didn't play. But Veleno had like 3 hits, so the importance of #GRIT is still there.

@SlafCaufZukes 0% xG share in 5 minutes of play without Anderson wouldn't have driven the agenda. The #GRIT is extremely important, it seems.

Point shares cards again. In 1936, two Hall of Fame D-man careers ended. Mantha led the #GoHabsGo to the 2nd-worst (now 4th) regular season in their history. Dutton received the first and only Hart Tropht votes of his career. (Mantha played 4 games for the Bruins in 1936–37).
