I entered cybersecurity without knowing why. No roadmap. No mentor. Just a love for challenges and an Electrical Engineering degree. Here's how confusion nearly made me quit and what finally gave me direction 🧵

@itsacybersumtin Think one set of people document their journey and while the other set doesn't, so the people you are referring to should be the first. Check YouTube for example you would see learn cyber security in 21days from beginner to pro. Which we know it's not possible.

If someone has never studied cybersecurity in a structured academic or deeply technical way, yet wants to position themselves as the authority teaching others, it is reasonable to ask: On what foundation is that authority built? Would anyone take a 30-day online course in medicine and confidently begin to call themselves a doctor? Would someone study law for 60 days and present themselves as a legal authority? Of course not. Yet in cybersecurity, this has somehow become normal. People complete extremely short courses and immediately position themselves as professionals, consultants, mentors, or trainers. This is one of the reasons I am not particularly loved in this space. I tend to challenge these narratives openly.

It's been a long journey so far, and I'm grateful for every experience it came with. As the Lord has added a year to my life, so has He enlarge my coast and everything around me. I therefore thank everyone who have been around me as a blessing, I really appreciate you all.

In #bugbounty it always feels like you're not gonna find anything, until suddenly you randomly stumble upon a bug out of nowhere.

@TheCryptoBolt For me I believe experience plays a via role in some hackers spotting vulnerabilities than others, because over the cause of time they have learnt patterns which helps them see what others are not seeing.

Ever wonder why some hackers spot vulnerabilities in seconds while you’re still staring at the screen confused? Your brain is secretly your best tool in pentesting.
