Catching up on Team USA/Latvia game from earlier. By far the best I have seen James Hagens play at any point since leaving Boston College. Played fast and aggressive. The trick will be getting him to play that way at wing rather than center spot where he seems most comfortable

@DawgsDon Yep. There were plenty of people that could see it as it was happening in the playoffs, but there were also many, many that could not. The fact that Alex Steeves is playing a key role on this team and Hagens isn't in the lineup should be making it very clear

@HackswithHaggs This puts a different perspective on why he was in and out of the lineup with Bruins during the playoffs. Different coach. Lesser quality of play then the NHL playoffs. Not playing. He's 19 and still having to learn to get better. Sturm was right.

We talked about this a bit on the podcast in recent weeks. The breakout issues, the defensive breakdowns and up-and-down development for Mason Lohrei most certainly played into this. But it would also make sense for Marco Sturm to want to add one of his own coaches to the staff

@hockeyb40028622 It's Team USA dude. Maybe, just maybe, Hagens just isn't doing anything impactful w/the role he's being given. There's only so long you can blame everybody else if you're relegated to a small role, or keep saying nobody he's playing with cant keep up w/him. Give me a break. LOL
