I’ll preface this by saying it’s not the only reason:
But, this is in part, a direct result of the father-son and academy picks. Poor clubs need access to the best picks plain and simple.
When teams like Brisbane Gold Coast etc get access to top prospects despite being premiership contenders it leads to the rich getting richer and the poor teams struggling more and for longer than necessary.
