I wrote LOU when I was feeling low and wondered about my own potential to make books and I do not take for granted the love LOU has received. (But seriously, I left a workshop crying then saw a peed on fire hydrant and was inspired to write LOU!) Thank you @BNBuzz #bnbookawards

@ckinginator @vanessakaybooks Good Question! I actually do enjoy “telling” in #picturebooks - it can be beautiful! (Sato The Rabbit) BUT. Gaston, by Kelly DiPuccio does an amazing job of “showing” with language; as does Daniel Salmeri’s Bear And Wolf. Ad of course Jon Klassen shows so much with diologue only!

Ok, I'm digging deeper into this for research purposes...what are some #picturebooks that do a super good job of showing vs telling? Not just good books, but good at this particular subject! #kidlit
