Your brain's neuro pathways for language processing entirely were built for your native language. So, you have to rewire many things again, but with an older brain.

I don't get why English speakers struggle so much with the "tsu" sound. It's literally the same as in the word "sports". It's not like they pronounce it "spors" like how they say "soonami"

@BurnipL65220 @stellamarie1123 @Kuuhaku3993 1. W doesn't exist, only V (в) 2. The only h sound is a hard h (х) 3. Th doesn't exist, Russians more likely to replace it with a T 4. Russian vowels are pretty consistent, there's not really any alternate versions of their vowels except for o/a depending on word stress

@stellamarie1123 @Kuuhaku3993 Why do Russian speakers have problems with the /w/-/v/ confusion, hard h aspiration, producing the th sounds, and distinguishing between short and long vowel pairs like /æ/ vs /ɛ/ and /i:/ vs /ɪ/.
