@SingularityNET I think social robotics will lag behind virtual avatars for a while - robots are simply not robust and scalable right now. I think it likely there will be an explosion of front office virtual avatars soon, which will be replaced by robots for increased functionality eventually.

In a beautiful parallel, AI is teaching humans about being more human.... AI R&D pushes humanity to look more deeply at the nature of thought, consciousness, sentience, intelligence, empathy, and the broadest global discussion of ethics the world has probably ever known.

The recent explosion in AI capability is based on a deep neural net ingesting large portions of the internet (an externalized global human brain) - a form of humans teaching AI about what humans are.
