@LoriHalfhide @CHSommers I'm not telling you you're wrong.
I do think lot of those news stories about the name change were written in a way that stoked fears, because fear and anger get attention.
Not agreeing with the name change is a valid opinion!
English

@HalfPintIngalls @CHSommers Ok ok ok. You are right and I am absolutely positively wrong. I'm done trying to voice my opinions and fears in a world where everyone else is right.

1984 “Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book has been rewritten...every statue and street and building has been renamed, every date has altered. And that process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped.” wsj.com/articles/hbo-m…

@LoriHalfhide @CHSommers Read the books! Love them! It's okay, dear.
But Jiminy Crickets, you need to put your energy into other things besides being angry about this.
English

@LoriHalfhide @CHSommers That's just the news about the 2018 award name change. What's happened since?
P.S. The award wasn't taken away from me.
And my name hasn't been taken off the award for any recipient before 2018.
English

@LoriHalfhide @CHSommers And please don't put racism in quotes like it's not real. It's ok to love the books and recognize that the books are problematic at the same time.
English

@HalfPintIngalls @CHSommers The Laura Ingalls Wilder award has already had the name changed because of her "racism". Attempts will continue to remove LH books from libraries and schools. Etc.
English

@DenturesDentata @CHSommers I know you didn't. I'm glad you have my books. But my legacy is complicated and you have to roll with the changes. Not being honored anymore is not in any way the same as being banned.
English

@LoriHalfhide @CHSommers Honest question: what do you think "those people" are going to do?
English

@HalfPintIngalls @CHSommers For now. There are those who want to trash the Little House too. Makes me very sad and angry.
English

@DenturesDentata @CHSommers Oh, you meant to be a little saucy, flutterbudget.
English

@DenturesDentata @CHSommers And, not to blow your mind, but you can still get my books in any bookstore and library around.
English

@DenturesDentata @CHSommers Um, it's a name on a library association medal.
You're acting like it's a horcrux or something.
English

@DenturesDentata @CHSommers then why are you in my mentions if I VANISHED FROM THE UNIVERSE
English

@dhbeaver70 If you're looking to go this summer, check websites for all the homesites. Sites in De Smet seem to be open, but De Smet & Walnut Grove pageants are cancelled. IMHO the landscapes in SD and MN are what make the travel worth it, and you can at least experience those safely.

Dilettantes, all of you.

Sales of butter churns are soaring amid the pandemic, as Americans go full-on “Little House on the Prairie," pursuing activities far more old-fashioned than just baking or gardening. I tried to figure out why this is happening — and, yes, I bought a churn. latimes.com/business/story…

@sleeplaboratory well, that's one way to sanitize the place
