Optimal wing balance is built on contrast — one wide creator/magician & one runner or 1v1 demon. At minimum, you need a true isolation threat on one flank. The issue with a Garnacho–Neto pairing is both are runners. That only works if they play narrow, almost as

Would be a disastrous move, his temperament is something we absolutely do not need. Just focus on Lacroix man.

But I guess that is the market. For Rogers to be worth that money he’s seriously going to have to work on his output which means he’ll have to get better with his movement & a lot more precise with his final actions where I feel like he still needs a lot of development.

We seriously over payed for Rogers. £100m+ is for players with either super rare athletic gifts (Bellingham) or universal plugs (Dembele) Rogers is a transition weapon who has the size to dominate in the box but that’s not enough to be a £100m player.

Watched Chema Andres for Stuttgart in depth this morning, I like him a LOT. Similar to Rodri, he's so upright and looks so huge when he's playing in front of the defence. The speed of his play is quality, one-two touch, doesn't waste touches. Can also push on and be useful between the lines [his goal vs Young Boys], his work is just so clean, I can't explain it. Footwork just never looks rushed, when free & when pressed. He's already got the leggy scooping/stabbing/sweeping tackle on him but give him a little bit of time to fill out physically, he's still too lean to play 6 in the PL, right now, but there's SO much to like about his game already. I genuinely think this lad could be a superstar, to be honest. 6/8-type at Arsenal, Spurs, Liverpool could be quite smart.

@themagic_tophat Literally what they’ve been doing every summer since they came in. Egbhali probably just enjoys playing real life FM. They’ve generated over 200m in every summer since 2022. That’s what they do and that’s why they sign so many players.

My estimate has them at a €200m profit gap to safety after signing Lacroix That already assumes a bump in commercial and PL placing too Needs to be made from player sale PROFITS (not just proceeds) and reduced costs (wages and amortisation) £160m in sales might not be enough
Pys@CFCPys

🚨🔵 JUST IN: Chelsea are planning at least 2 more key signings and plan to make more than £300m in sales. They have generated £140m so far. (@TheAthleticFC)

Transfers should generally follow 5 main gates: — Data: identify large scale output. — Physical Scouting: identify unique skill application (athletic gift × intelligence). — Medical: verify the body can sustain it. — Coach: verify system/role fit. — Mental profiling: verify psychological reaction to different environments. All 5 stages are equally important & most transfers fail because at least 1 stage is ignored & the most common 2 are the input of the coach + mental profiling. And I generally believe it is impossible to build a successful well balanced team without the guidance of a very knowledgeable & visionary coach. This is why Chelsea we are blessed to have a coach that is àn intellect, à charismatic leader & a visionary.

@Gametheorist_ That is another issue that should/had to be addressed & why I wanted/want a runner but JP as striker is alright. His best is as a striker not left 10.

@HalfSpaceMC where would the vertical dynamism come from? And don’t tell me WBs because they have very minimal impact to the opposition’s box.

@olawaleadeshin4 Really didn’t watch Busquets to have much input on this topic tbh. Watching like 2-3 90s of Busquets is definitely in my bucket list

Busquets & Rodri are the best controller profile because they are able to control the game technically & also physically. Where guys like Vitinha & Pedri fall short is because they only have the technical side to fall on. Their small size & light frame helps them escape pressure better but also makes them vulnerable in duels & liabilities OOP. Valuable profiles but however limited. Rodri can offer similar qualities on the ball while also able to control the flow of the game physically and it’s also thesame reason why Pedri was benched for Fabian Ruiz. /

Profiles like Vitinha & Pedri àre not just as valuable because when they don’t have defensive volume as a midfielder you become a liability OOP & need someone to clean up for them and the only way they can balance it is by having output in attack which they don’t have. Even profiles like Kimmich & Neves àre superior because they have thé defensive volume while having similar quality on the ball & even have more output

Morgan Rogers ticks a lot of the boxes I've spoken about: — A genuine aerial outlet when pressed — Two footed around the box with real shot value — Powerful through the middle, capable out wide, and elite in contact — Relentless OOP, an absolute necessity in the PL You see?
Ali@alialtaktik

One of the most interesting tactical shifts in modern football is the migration of traditional target man responsibilities from the centre of the pitch to the wings. The rise of the Outlet Winger is changing squad building across the Premier League. 🧵

Enzo did it for the love of the game. He couldn’t stand for this demonic football. He is a real one. My captain.

@Gametheorist_ Can’t handle build up duties (always chooses the simplest passes) Proactive & aggressive defender & not reactive & calm like the Saliba’s He’s leader & top box defender but that is still not enough at the highest level. Looks more like WCB.

@HalfSpaceMC Every pass is literally a line breaker. And you still do not know what constitutes a CCB.
