Launching a community fridge in normal circumstances can be a bit of a challenge and during a global pandemic, that tad bit trickier. But, people of Halifax, you came through. Through your selfless generosity, hundreds of people from Calderdale won't go to sleep hungry.

Fridges of Mercy - The Mosque Community Fridge Network Across the U.K., communities are opening their hearts to make sure no one is left behind. Supported by local Mosques and powered by volunteers, each fridge offers free food to anyone who needs it. No barriers. No judgement.

NHGS students raised £278.55 for the @HalifaxFridge through their Eid Celebration event. They had the opportunity to volunteer alongside the dedicated team who provide free groceries and hot meals to those in need, 7 days a week. Students were joined by Councillor Shakir Saghir

It was wonderful for a group of Y6 children to visit Halifax Community Fridge this week and help out with serving. The children learnt about how the initiative works and that donations can be dropped off at any time during the day and left behind the shed.

Some incredible work being done in Mosques, supporting local communities across the country. Collectively we supported 5,094 families this past week. We’re working hard day and night to spread peace and feed people across the U.K.

Earlier today, JCF volunteers visited the amazing Halifax Community Fridge. Here is Ian who is a dedicated Volunteer at HCF - a true community champion! A big thank you from everyone at JTI Community Fridge for allowing us to visit today at short notice.

On Thursday, a group of students from the Calder Learning Trust visited us to make a donation from their annual Hamper Appeal. Students and staff rose to the occasion once again, bringing in a huge amount of items. Thank you to everyone who donated, it is very much appreciated.

We have schools visiting the Mosque and Community Fridge every week - we recently had Triangle Primary School visit us with donations and even presented us with a cash donation that the children had been fundraising. Amazing generosity from the children at the school.

Our donation trolleys are dotted around the town in our towns amazing supermarkets that support us - here’s some donations from earlier today from Emma at Asda Halifax. Emma and her family volunteer weekly and have supported the fridge for many years.

What an amazing donation today from everyone at the Halifax Academy - they’ve supported our work for a very long time now and we’ve an amazing relationship with the staff and students.

A huge thank you to our parents and carers for attending the Winter Bazaar yesterday and helping us to raise £1452. This money will be split between @infostaugs and @HalifaxFridge to help fund the wonderful work they do in our local community. @ImpactMAT #heartsandmindsconnect
