Due to the nature of your job as a sales person you're most likely to face an exit in your company when revenue growth is at a decline.
And while you're facing the daily work pressure, make sure you have set-up something by the side (business) you can fall back on.
Sales job is very volatile.
You're the first person management will drop their hammer on when the book is red.
Credit writing,
Cost benefits analysis,
Data Analysis - Insight design (PowerBi),
Market Research.
These were the four major skills I learnt while doing banking sales that got me into Oil and Gas on a different capacity.
While you're chasing target, please also prioritize your personal development.
The day you'll leave banking, is when it will dawn on you that your wardrobe has been a mess.
For me, about 80% of my clothes were just different colours of plain shirts, plain trousers, and a few native outfits.
I had to do an overhaul to start looking like a real person.
What a life.
A friend lost his job and had nowhere to go, so I took him in. Fed him, housed him, for 9 months.
One night, he said his flight was the next morning. Just like that. Thanked me for everything and left.
I went to work the next day, tried calling him, line wasn't going through. A week later, he finally picked up. Said he was fine, he’d arrived in the US.
That was 3 years ago.
No calls. No messages. Nothing.
I’ve never felt betrayal in my life like I felt that day. Not even enemies move like that.
