Many of you may be asking the question “What the hell is a flow state?”. So I wanted to provide you the answer… You know that state we’re in, when we act with razor sharp focus, complete certainty and we adapt to the situation effortlessly?

Everybody out there… when you use the word should, that’s usually a trigger that there’s an expectation to follow. I should never three putt. I should always break par. I should… fill in the blank. And unfortunately, not all of that is in your control.

When I have a one-on-one client, I always ask them “what creates commitment over shots for you?” At FlowCode Golf we talk a lot about post shot routines to manage unresourceful emotions, but we can also use it to learn from our great shots.

I wanted to share an important message for coaches. In today’s world, we are drowning in information. I encourage you today to start to use some of the information you are learning and apply it as soon as you can.

When we talk about focus, the main question we ask is “what are you paying attention to when it matters most?” So when I look at the shot that’s in front of me, what do I see? Well, I can see a tree, a bunker, a flagstick, I can see the green.

Visualization is a skill that can be learned. It can help to train it at home first, before you bring it to the golf course. In your pre shot routine you can choose to visualize in three different ways… First, we can visualize a static target like a bullseye in the distance.
