Halyrude PS

On Friday afternoon Halyrude Netball participated in friendly matches alongside other primary schools at PHS. Everyone played brilliantly and showed fabulous sportsmanship! Well done and thank you to Mrs Rome for organising.

Lovely to see children dressed in their uniforms for Thinking Day.

P3/4 have been learning about the Vikings. They have created their own Viking characters and ground wheat to make Viking bread. It was delicious!

P6 and P7 had a great morning competing at Sports Hall Athletics. Although we didn’t get a prize place, all the pupils demonstrated determination, resilience and great sportsmanship. Everyone worked so hard and gave it their all! Go team Halyrude! 

Thank you to our school librarians who were busy this week getting the library organised for the new term!

P3/4 have been investigating changes in states of matter and had fun using snow and salt to turn milk into ice-cream!

P1/2 made some beautiful Christmas decorations. We hope they got home safely!

P3-7 had a wonderful morning at the Peebles Schools Christmas service.

On Friday afternoon Halyrude took part in the Tweeddale Netball tournament at PHS. We played against strong oppositions but the hard work and determination from our team shone through, putting into practice what they’ve been learning. Halyrude were winners of Pool B. Well done!

We would like to say a HUGE thank you to Tesco, Peebles, for their very kind and generous donation of plants. Our planters are looking fantastic now!
