@sck8182 @geoffkeighley Yeah it seems Xbox is starting a new type of focused presentation for 3rd Party games "Xbox First Look" on an individual game basis. They also announced one of these for Stranger of Heaven for May.

The next Metro game from 4A Games is Metro 2039, and it will be revealed on Thursday as part of an “Xbox First Look”’event.

@XeroSkillGames @younghavok I’m not personally interested in it, but it is definitely a pro consumer decision. There are people who can’t afford to pay to play and would prefer to watch ads instead. Being pro consumer means meeting the demand.

@amazinglydavy @younghavok You're right that we shouldn't focus on the 400 games, but the majority isn't bad—it's around 20 to 30 percent—though, in reality, yes that's enough to make saying “400” a weak argument. The figure I mentioned—50 day-one games—is more relevant.

@younghavok @HamDANeigt It’s Nintendo and it’s not even close. You could have mentioned game share, which you can buy one game and use on multiple systems. The majority of those 400 games on GPU are trash and calling them pro consumer is laughable

@younghavok I’ll use myself as an example: yes, there are four or five games I buy each year that I want to keep because I know I’ll want to play them again in five years. But that’s not the case with everything else.

@younghavok Yes, and that doesn't matter to most people these days. Most people don't replay games they've already finished, and the value of having played those games doesn't disappear even if access to them does.

@younghavok Even if you buy the games and resell them, you end up with far fewer games than you would with the GPU. 36 is great, but the GPU offers a lot more.

@HamDANeigt GPU costs 360 per year and you don’t get to own any of the games. Thats 5 full price games per year that you can own on switch 2 and resell to buy other games. Thats about 36 games over the typical life of the console on s2. Well above the average attach rate.
