Remembering my father, Ahmed Zewail (1946–2016), Nobel laureate and pioneer of femtochemistry. An Egyptian-American scientist whose groundbreaking work changed how we see molecules. His legacy continues to inspire scientists around the world. #AhmedZewail #NobelPrize #Chemistry
The Nobel Prize@NobelPrize

Chemical reactions take place in a matter of femtoseconds. One femtosecond is to a second, as a second is to 32 million years. #NobelPrize laureate Ahmed Zewail used lasers to watch these reactions in slow motion and study how atoms in a molecule move during a chemical reaction.

I don’t know who needs to hear this but your PhD doesn’t need to be perfect. It just needs to be finished.

Drinking 8 glasses of water a day came from a recommendation in 1945 with zero medical basis Chugging water all day, even when you're not thirsty, is one of the worst things you can do for your health. Too much water dilutes sodium in your blood and causes your body to excrete magnesium and potassium to balance it out, making you even more dehydrated over time.

Eczema is NOT a skin condition. It’s a gut condition showing up on the skin.

@HamaadMoustafa @viabilitynerd @thegarybrecka I'm saying nothing else I've ever taken works. No pills, no creams, nothing. So instead of putting people through hell trying to identify some obsure "cause", give them something that relieves the itching and heals the condition. If you say it is gut, then provide the solution

@PhilMatthews11 @viabilitynerd @thegarybrecka where did I say it is a gut condition? if an eczema is caused due to an allergen, then this is an antigen-antibody reaction inside your body, not every rash or flare on your skin is eczema, it could many things , only proper medical assement can tell

@viabilitynerd @thegarybrecka it is specifically designed for babies and young kids, give it a try. one thing, a too much clean environment promotes immunlogical diseases , there should be some dirt to boost the immunity, i know it sounds strange but it is a known fact.

@viabilitynerd @thegarybrecka I know this sounds weird but 90% rubbing alcohol. Put it on twice a day and it will stop the itching. After 2 weeks, it may crack, even bleed a little. Don't stop, it will then start healing and it goes away. You have to kill the bacteria. Try one spot if you don't believe.

Our 1.5 year old son has horrible eczema, but everything in our household is organic and clean, no seed oils. He eats only whole real foods, nothing processed. Home cooked everything. Even raise our own chickens. We can’t figure it out. Beef tallow makes it way worse, but that’s the only other clue. Any ideas we should try? We’re desperate.

@hyderabaddoctor it is very unprofessional to say "she was a much better surgeon than the male surgeon" this is not something that should be ever said in public by medical practitioners. the reason she is not getting patients is clear and you stated it indirectly

One of my friend's wife is an excellent gastro surgeon. However, she struggled to get patients to operate. Majority of patients could not trust her abilities to perform a surgery with excellent outcome. This included women patients too, who would prefer a male surgeon over a female surgeon. She had to team up with a senior male surgeon in order to get cases to operate. Patients believed that the male surgeon would be operating, however, once inside the theater, my friend's wife used to take over the surgeries. As per the male surgeon, she was a much better surgeon than him. Are these biases common, or this case is one off?
