The sheer scale of the venom being directed at Celtic and their fans is more than just about football. It is rooted in Scotland's baleful legacy and history of anti-Irish Catholic racism and bigotry. We were on our knees as a community when Celtic was established in 1888. In 2026 we stand tall. And the reason we do stand tall is largely because of Celtic, and how the club has provided us with a sense of pride in an identity that is rooted in defiance not compliance.

I understand the emotion around a huge penalty decision in a massive game. Football does that to people. But at some point emotion has to give way to evidence. When freeze frames, angles and clear contact are sitting right in front of us, denying it because it doesn’t suit your team or narrative just kills any honest debate. What’s even worse is when professionals and pundits, who know the game inside out, deliberately drive a narrative to suit an agenda rather than analyse what’s actually in front of them. That only fuels tribalism and misinformation. You can debate consistency. You can debate interpretation. But you can’t just ignore unrefutable evidence because it’s inconvenient. Football discussion is far better when honesty matters more than point scoring.

Never, in the history of football- or any sport- has there been such blatant & shameless cheating. League is going to Hearts, 5 minutes stoppage played, not to worry Celtic’s officials deliver for them yet again. Celtic have no shame; any other club would be embarrassed at the level of cheating. But not them. The reprehensible Beaton delivers for his own again. How is this man allowed to be a referee? He literally doesn’t even try to hide it anymore.
