A lot of readers have no problem reading slop, even if it’s AI generated. The literary side of publishing, where writers and writing matter, will have to break away eventually. Two completely separate ecosystems.

The biggest mystery is why her team at Hachette didn't edit the self-published version before releasing it. It's not like the AI snuck in by successfully immitating a literary genius. This book with seemingly no editorial oversight went to market whether or not AI was involved.

It's interesting to me that Lindy West published a book about extremely traumatizing and impactful events in her life, and now seems angry that people are judging her. If you don't want the intimate details of your life to be judged by the masses, don't write a book about them!

It's not even that as much as the fact that right-wing Jews have been organized for a long time and were thus in a much better position to take advantage of Trump's victory than other people in his coalition.
For instance, America Firsters will support kicking out any third-world student engaging on left-wing activism on American campuses, but only turbo-Zionists have operations to watch over campuses, databases of anti-Israel malcontents, etc.
And because they have friends in the administration, they have channels to send them names of people to go after and policy initiatives to deal with anti-Israel sentiment on campus, whereas MAGA people have nothing of the sort so their movement is just getting highjacked.

Heard this from multiple people I know in Europe: Bringing Trump back (after Jan 6, etc) broke their faith in the American electorate.
And they can't allow long-term trust (and alliances, etc) if voters in, say, Wisconsin might go insane every other election.

Multiple reports say U.S. allies believe the Strait of Hormuz can’t be reopened by force or threats. Israeli officials, however, expect the Trump administration to apply heavy pressure or act forcefull to reopen it. This may not happen, but it’s what Israel is preparing for.
