@Hammo76 It’s irrelevant to think about what other league one clubs are doing. CAT 1 status saved our club. Got to keep our standards and not go backwards

@_Luke1871 How is it irrelevant? Brentford were awarded it 2 weeks ago. Bournemouth don’t have one. We’ve had a decade of decline despite having a cat 1 academy. Maybe a different youth model (like Brighton Brentford and Bournemouth all did) will have a better ROI?

Fans need to vote with their feet and not renew season tickets. Strange feeling today not renewing for the first time in 20+ years. I will not pay my money to watch that utter dross for another season with zero ambition as a club. #Readingfc

It is a shame to not have given Yiadom at least 2 minutes on Saturday really now he’s been released, for someone to give 8 years of their career here is a long time. Not sure I’d go as far as to call him a legend or anything, but long tenure deserves a bit of respect.

The tactics he employed at Wigan then are not as successful now as teams are better are defending it. As a coach you have to constantly evolve.

Ward is an excellent ball playing left footed centre back who fits that view and Robert’s suits the advanced full back role he likes. It hasn’t been pretty I agree but you don’t get a team up as champions by luck

Actually it’s about having a clear approach to the game, having defensive and attacking shapes that are drilled in training, signing players for specific roles and playing them there. He’s failed on 1/2

Also Kelvin and Danny k have definitely improved.

But you can’t build a house on such loose foundations. His tactics are dated and no longer work. He’s not got the best out of the players available and his coaching hasn’t seen anyone improve. 2/2

I’d rather base what he has done on first 4 months rather than last month. And I do not care about style in League one.

@MarkHopgoo46439 Yep it was a mixtures of the good the bad and the ugly. Which a mid table team is going to produce. I am just very reluctant to keep changing managers as we keep doing it and we keep failing.

What sums up our situation for me is my best mates grandchildren no longer want to go to games. They have all been season ticket holders for 5 years, but at ages, 9, 10 and 12 they’ve got bored of the football and pyros. 5 people won’t be renewing #readingfc

@Hammo76 I saw one game where we went toe to toe with Stockport which wasn’t pretty but we won 1-0 and I thought we were turning a corner. Since then I have seen nothing to indicate that he can repeat what he did at Wigan with us. I hope he proves me wrong.

@MarkHopgoo46439 What makes you think he could do it at Wigan but not at reading? Genuine question. We looked at our best under LR when we had our best players available. Not saying he’ll win style awards but up until last month, when injury crisis hit, we’d been picking up points consistently

@Hammo76 I don’t disagree with that, but I don’t see LR as the man to deliver what we all want. Lincoln weren’t great style wise, but every single player understood their role in the team. Under LR we look dysfunctional tbh.

@MarkHopgoo46439 If we are in top 2 next season then I guarantee we’ll hear far less about style. People just want success. It’s been 15 years since a promotion and a decade since Wembley. For a fan base that saw 4 promotions in 17 years fa cup semi final and premier league it’s understandable.

@Hammo76 For the 12 year old it is about style of play, but the other two are just bored of going to games, and yes, not winning doesn’t help.

@jonathan_lara Wellens fooling the #readingfc fans demonstrating why Fanbase should be the last people to choose next manager. He just led them from play offs to 20th and you’re all looking at him misty eyed because ‘he says it how it is’ (and incidentally lays it all at players door!)
