I have spoken to the Prime Minister to tender my resignation as Secretary of State for Health & Social Care.
It has been an enormous privilege to serve in this role, but I regret that I can no longer continue in good conscience.

@KatesPowerSuit I'm in no way a royalist, and very staunchly so. But she's 96, no matter what I think of her position, as a human being she deserves to live quietly now. Especially after the governmental shitshows, Covid and burying her husband in the last few years.
