Hundreds of thousands of Taiwanese gathered on Ketagalan Boulevard yesterday night to demand accountability for the government’s handling of the carcinogenic cooking oil scandal.
To this day, the government has still failed to explain how it occurred, or disclose the full scope of affected products. Rather than responding with urgency and transparency, the administration has delayed action, shifted responsibility, and failed to provide the public with clear answers.
This is no longer simply a food safety incident, but a profound failure of governance and a crisis of public trust. Every family deserves to know what entered the food supply, why the carcinogenic oil went undetected, and what concrete measures are being taken to ensure it never happens again.
KMT stands with the people. Protecting food safety is one of the most basic responsibilities of any government. It must never be obscured, delayed, or sacrificed for political convenience.

在军队里开重型装甲卡车的老兵，退伍后居然不能直接去开民用卡车？
这是过去一直存在的奇葩现实。
一身硬核驾驶技能，被繁琐的资格转换机制卡得死死的。
老兵们就是进不了民用物流市场。
但现实中的美国公路上跑着谁？
大量非法入境的卡车司机。
川普在最新的讲话里点出了这个致命盲区：
这些人根本看不懂英文路标。
有的甚至带着毒品和酒精上路。
毫无资质的人，开着几十吨的钢铁巨兽在高速上狂奔。
这是一颗颗随时爆的定时炸弹。
一边是进不来的专业老兵，一边是极度危险的非法司机。
川普政府宣布，直接打通这堵墙。
新政策规定：
任何在军队中驾驶过重型卡车的美国军人，将自动获得商业驾驶执照（CDL）资格。
直接跨过那些没用的繁文缛节。
同时，政府还会对其他有意愿的退伍军人进行系统的卡车驾驶培训。
逻辑极其简单。
把方向盘从不懂路标的非法司机手里夺回来。
交还给受过严格军事训练的老兵。
一条政策，既解决了老兵就业，又拆了公路上的雷。
