A couple of weeks ago, I had the chance to visit Kashmir, and it was an experience I'll never forget. Everywhere I went, people welcomed me with warmth, kindness, and genuine hospitality. The love and respect they showed for Pakistan was truly touching. Like people everywhere, Kashmiris have their own struggles some visible, some hidden deep within. Yet despite the challenges, I saw resilience, hope, and a strong sense of community. That journey reminded me that our strength lies in unity. When we stand together, support one another, and move forward as one people, there is no challenge we cannot overcome.

While reading The Book Thief, I was reminded of a real story from Balochistan that has stayed with me. As a daughter of balochistan, I deeply admire women who keep moving forward despite fear and hardship. Maria Shamoon, one of the first women to serve as an Assistant Commissioner in Balochistan and a proud Christian woman, is one of them. In January 2026, she was taken by armed men from her home in Nushki. It is heart breaking to imagine what she and her family went through. But Maria's story is not about fear, it is about strength. After being rescued, she returned to serving her people with courage and determination. For me, Maria represents the strength of Balochistan's women. Her journey reminds us that every woman has the right to live, lead, and serve her community without fear. Women like Maria make our province stronger and inspire the next generation to dream bigger.
