Victoria Africa of Patriotic Alliance says she is not impressed with how the Vosloorus march unfolded. She expressed disappointment in the march leaders, accusing them of following a “script” in what she described as a war. According to Victoria, the initial plan was to shut down all foreign-owned spaza shops until Mazwi Kubheka is found. However, she claims the leaders instead chose to march, dance, and submit a memorandum. Victoria added that she and her team from the Patriotic Alliance managed to close some shops, but were eventually outnumbered after what she described as a “protection fee gang” arrived to defend the foreign shop owners. A Zimbabwean man was kidnapped in Johannesburg by fellow Zimbabweans, who initially demanded R90,000, which was paid. According to reports, after receiving the money, the kidnappers demanded an additional R50,000 before releasing him. The victim was eventually freed yesterday after a total of R142,000 was paid. Sadly, he was badly tortured during captivity, he was beaten and burned. It’s heartbreaking that such cruelty exists among people living far from home.
