Happy and nervous that this will soon be available. You can now pre-order The Queer Aesthetics of Childhood: Asymmetries of Innocence and the Cultural Politics of Child Development. Thanks to Erica Meiners and Kathryn Bond Stockton and Ebony G Patterson for the words and art

Fabulous line from @HannahMDyer 's The Queer Aesthetics of Childhood: "Critically studying the rhetoric of childhood innocence is indispensable to opening new futures for children that are accountable to the histories of social violence they inherit."

I’ve done so much compelling history / Childhood reading this month and keep meaning to tweet about it. @HannahMDyer on childhood having a “queer aesthetic” to order the world. It’s amazing for thinking of Victorian early childhood, which was very un-gendered to the modern eye. -

Due to COVID, all my interviews with @ubc_english were conducted virtually, but today I fly to Vancouver to look at apartments, tour the campus, and meet some of my new colleagues. I feel like I’ve been a contestant on Love is Blind, and I’m finally meeting my fiancé.
