It’s a trauma response to hyper focus on what people say or think. At one time, this is how you stayed safe in an unpredictable environment. You learned to notice every shift in mood or behavior because you faced the consequences of those shifts.

Was just asked to host a land acknowledgment workshop by a University. I told them my fee & they replied that they were hoping I’d do it “pro bono.” It IRKS me when Universities or multi-million dollar businesses ask Indigenous people for free labor. Was the free land not enough?

@nataliapetrzela @adammansbach According to the program, it’s for 100 bikes only, you need to apply, and they will pick up. However- the SC community is hating this. AND- remember that SoulCycle sells bikes and has their own app too… 🤔

@adammansbach I wonder how massive it will be… I presume they aren’t picking up, so are you really going to roll your peloton into your local SC for an estimate from the receptionist?! And then if they’re like, ah it’s pretty beat up, but we’ll give you free shoe rental, you roll it out?
