It shouldn't be so hard to defend someone who's being maligned in your own name, no one is trying to enslave you, but you should be at the forefront protecting his name, especially as the indignation is connected to your own cause, wherein he played a critical role in helping you regain your freedom. The day we went to court, @egi_nupe called me as early as 8 am notifying me that your wife was informed that you would not be presented in court, which ordinarily meant that your case would not go on and you may have spent a few more weeks in the correctional facility. However, we deliberated on the situation and concluded that we would make a case to the magistrate to make an exception for your case and proceed with the matter in your absence. When we arrived court, we were yet again confronted with the unfortunate news that the magistrate would only attend to civil matters on that day because she had a meeting to attend and your freedom was to remain hanging for another two weeks. I reached out to @egi_nupe again to notify him of the situation, but he was persistent, especially in the interest of your wife and baby, we agreed that I would speak from the bar and appeal to the magistrate to hear your case, even though it's a criminal case. In all of these, we were begging the prosecutor and complainant to cooperate with us as their presence was mandatory. Fortunately for us, it all worked out as we wanted and you were released same day. It is not too much an ask to expect you to vigorously defend his honour which is being called to question by a cantankerous individual, moreso, in connection to your own case. It is preposterous and unforgivably foolish to think you can sit on the fence in a situation like this. It actually calls your own sanity into question.
