For my non-teachers in this thread: this only scrapes the surface of some of the ridiculously problematic things teachers have seen and had to deal with in schools. I’m sure every teacher has stories for days. And also many of us DO push back, with no support/resolution.

Today my mom told me 26 teachers are quitting from her school after this year. That’s: - all the kindergarten teachers - all the 4th grade teachers - all the 5th grade teachers - all but one 1st grade teacher - all but one 2nd grade teacher - all but one 3rd grade teacher

@wokeSTEMteacher The school I substitute for has only 1 full time teacher. It took me a week to establish any order in my 2nd grade class so we could finally do some learning. Changing teachers everyday/week is not conducive to learning.

@PhDinProgress17 I met my spouse in grad school. Then he switched fields and now I 🤷‍♀️. But I went into the private sector and he 🤷‍♀️ about my work.

@michaelharriot And if anyone is interested, this is how health workers and local authorities transport the vaccines to remote areas. 8 hours carrying the cooler with 60,000 doses to a central town and people from remote villages have to walk 6 hours to get their doses.

@michaelharriot It isn’t available in my country for my age group yet (early 30s). So I’m just waiting for the labs to comply with their contracts and deliver the vaccine to developing countries while whatching in disbelief privileged people regusing the vaccine

Because being treated for a medical condition might make kid feel weird and stressed out. And it is better to pretend that all is Ok.
