Why does everyone want one of these new automobile thingamabob's? If you are too lazy to ride a horse to town, just stay home. I heard those things can explode and put other people's lives in danger. It only takes one misfire in one of those internal combustathingy engine things to cause an explosion.

Right, I understand. Regardless, it's not a good long term practice to let someone take advantage of your situation. Nefarious reasons or not, they genuinely may just be care-free or just overlooked how inconvenient it might be to put you in this situation. Leaving your stuff at someone's place is inconsiderate if there wasn't an agreement before hand. They genuinely may just not really think it's a big deal for whatever reason, and a quick conversation might help them realize their shortsightedness in the situation. You've always seemed like stand-up dude, if you want the stuff moved out, you are not being unreasonable or even the slightest bit insensitive.

My roommate told me that he was moving out at end of January. It is March 3rd. He has moved his bed out. The rest of his furniture is still in his bedroom and taking up half the living room. I don’t have immediate plans to find a new roommate. Should be still be paying rent?

@SouthHampUpper1 @financedystop I've been getting paid monthly by my employer for 15 years now and I much prefer it. Haven't had to budget for bill paying in 15 years now. Get my salary once a month, pay all bills at once. Put some money to the side when I can, and just budget/survive off the rest.

@financedystop She is talking like an hourly employee at $20/hour and that she gets paid once a month on the 1st reveals that she is NOT in the USA and thus the work culture is not familiar to North Americans.

She just started at a new job and her office asked for $150 for a “team lunch”…

This has made me genuinely curious about something: if you're white, and you didn't grow up in an explicitly racist household, how did you first learn about the n-word? I can't imagine there's a standard procedure for that sort of thing.

I mean it likely isn't a load bearing wall. Most load bearing walls, and by most I mean like 95% (Someone check my math), run perpendicular to the joist/trust that is above them. Not saying that parallel running walls aren't ever load bearing, but it's pretty rare. Regardless, craftsmanship in that video is ass. But I've seen worse.

@ctreid89 I wired more than 200 new homes. Much of what this guy talks about is silly. Yes, there's some sloppy work there but much is a nothingburger. His "load bearing wall" is likely NOT but the video doesn't show it well enough. Nothing wrong with the furring strips on concrete.

Also when you look at the box office for 2007, was wild what we used to have compared to now in terms of theatrical entertainment. Spider-Man 3, a Shrek movie, Transformers, Pirates of the Caribbean, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Bourne Ultimatum, 300, I am Legend. No, I know not all Oscar worthy films, but in terms of going out with friends to see a movie, box office used to be stacked most years. What happened?

@TheCinesthetic The cast in this movie is insane. Cillian Murphy, Rose Byrne, Chris Evans, Michelle Yeoh, Hiroyuki Sanada, Benedict Wong, Mark Strong. This one flew under the radar in it's day but it is still one of my favorite Sci-Fi movies.

The reveal in Sunshine (2007) when the computer calmly lists a fifth crew member is a chilling pivot. In one quiet line of text, the mission shifts from science fiction to something far more unnerving.
