@realMaalouf How in the hell does the city that experienced the largest White and Conservative terrorist attack vote for a white Republican mayor?

@moxie329 Also even though sinister was introduced in Uncanny, his overarching plot has much more of a connection with the O5, and Havok than with any of the other X-men (besides Gambit)

You have to choose 4 X-Men characters that will never, ever, appear in a MCU movie. BUT! They have to have been X-Men during the Claremont or Morrison run. I’ll go first

@pprisex @malaasuerteee The only problem with early X-Men is that Xaivier’s doesn’t feel like a school in the slightest. There’s never more than like 8 students until New X-Men.

@malaasuerteee The more I survey the options the more I realize why every adaptation is vaguely 90s/ Claremont based cause every other era is either to confusing for the GP to start with, to niche or not interesting enough 😭😭😭

Maybe not even 5. Lincoln, Wilson, FDR, LBJ all managed to do something with its power that we still can say like, alright, thats pretty good. (They also each did plenty of awful stuff too). Everyone else is just complete and total suckage. -OS

No one has ever wielded the office flawlessly. Hell, no one has ever wielded the office in a fashion that's half-ok. Only five presidents have managed to use it for something that stood the test of time as worthwhile. -OS

@JoePostingg @hecubian_devil You’re discovering the @lyndonbajohnson Office Staff theory of the Presidency—it is just too much power for any one person to wield well.

@MoBB_05 @nonregemesse Also the seven kingdoms have likely already had multiple Bastards on the throne (Daeron, and Aenys)

@MoBB_05 @nonregemesse The Velaryons don’t care, the Starks and Arryns don’t care, the many houses Jace treats with don’t care. The only three characthers who even bring it up as a cause against Rhaenyra are Criston Aemond and Alicent.

The rightful monarch was Aegon, the eldest son of Viserys and not Rhaenyra, a woman whose sons were illegitimate.

@MoBB_05 @nonregemesse Doubtful. The Velaryons and Daemon had no reason to support a rebellion since Baela was to marry Jace. Who would’ve supported Aegon III in this hypothetical war?

@nonregemesse Even if the throne was passed to Rhaenyra, a war would happen later if Jace was named heir, a blackfyre rebellion but in reverse

@d_h_sanders I wonder what Bernie’s hypothetical 2018 midterms would look like if he passed GND and M4A? Republican wins in MN, MI, AZ, NM, MT, WV, NJ, OH, PA, VA, WA and WV?

As time goes on, the mythical feats of Bernie continue to grow. Passing M4A and the GND would most likely require even more than a 60 vote supermajority in the senate, which would mean Bernie had to win the popular vote by like +10.
George Aylett@GeorgeAylett

To think, in an alternative universe, Bernie Sanders has already concluded his second term as President. The Green New Deal created jobs and helped tackle the climate emergency, healthcare is more accessible, wages are higher, wealth inequality reduced.. What could have been.

@sogaardreed @OcultShinobi lol the conflict was started under Idriss, and was over land. Gaddafi’s continuance of his predecessor’sforeign policy is much more easily explained by wanting to annex their land rather than “liberation”. Also, who annexes land from people they’re “liberating”

Well, Chad is very complex, Gaddafi claimed that territory was in fact Libyan and justified it with maps of Libya predating the Italian colonial era, but he only really wanted it for uranium mining. Chad was controlled by French colonialism at the time, and Gaddafi supported a liberation faction of the country during his long war against the country (who promised to support his claim to the strip) so it's more broad than simple resource grab from neighbours and in fact involves a fight against French colonialism in the region

@sogaardreed @OcultShinobi He invaded Chad so he could annex the aouzou strip. Don’t forget he decided to assist in Idi Amin’s unprovoked invasion of anti-imperialist Julius Neyere solely to sustain his sphere of influence.

@OcultShinobi He in no way resembled anything close to Nazism, implying so reveals a critical misunderstanding of Libyan history, its fight against colonialism and the egalitarian nature of Gaddafi's Jamahiriya
