Raider deserves so much more recognition, he's been super high elo as a toplaner for a long time now which is very uncommon
Any toplaner that wants to learn should watch his streams

Patch 26.7 Preview
Thank you to the team for handling the Patch while I was at First Stand!
Many of the folks who went hadn't been to Brazil before, including me and the players there were just so passionate, we had a lot of listening sessions with the community, Q&A's, and the event itself was great
It was overall an amazing, though short time (only 2 days), but alas, lots of exciting work to be done back home!
First Stand
- Congrats to BLG and the LPL for winning their first international title in about 3 years!
- The First Stand meta ended up being quite good; there was significant diversity in every role between classes
- One notable gap was AP junglers and AD mids (related) and so we'll see what we can do to enable some more of those picks heading into the Season
- Was especially happy with the Bot meta; Lethality Varus had a 14% winrate and there was a good mix of Casters, Hypercarries and Utility as well as many fringe picks like Zeri, Kog, etc.
- Ranged Supports are really starting to get away from the rest of the pack now with laning being a much larger focus due to role quests
- Not necessarily a bad thing though, given that we've been in Melee supp meta for many years
- Game pacing overall felt good (or at least I thought so) and the lack of lane swaps really allowed each role to shine, with GigaBin showcasing the power of an unleashed Top lane role
- It really did seem like every lane could carry and balance of objectives vs splitting felt pretty appropriate
Shyvana
- Shyvana definitely initially landed a bit strong and her hotfix put her in a decent spot after that
- Shyvana has a bit of an unintended interaction with Sylas that we will be micropatching out tomorrow; essentially he benefits double from her auto attacks passive (with Sylas's passive) that makes his attacks do pretty eye popping values
- We're still taking our time to evaluate role viability for Top Shyvana and whether it's reasonably supportable without destroying Jungle role satisfaction
- We've also been working on some changes to increase satisfaction of Passive, reduce MMR skew, increase counterplay and satisfaction of E
Support Quest
- A few patches ago, we talked about reducing the negative impact of the support quest to reduce complexity
- We're going to pull this all the way this patch. This may result in some farming support shenanigans, but then you're also denying your bot carry their quest progression; we're giving it a go to see if anything breaks
More on champions tomorrow

Zendaya Helped Tom Holland Get the Spider-Man Role 🚨
During Tom's final audition for Spider-Man, he did a screen test with Zendaya who was already cast as MJ.
She improvised lines to make him feel comfortable and brought out his natural chemistry.
The Russos later said her support during that audition "brought out his best performance."
Tom got the role. They fell in love on set. Now they're married.
Zendaya didn't just become his MJ in the movies - she helped him become Spider-Man in the first place

@MarvelExrth616 bullshit this is true theres no way zendaya was cast before him when her role didnt matter at all in homecoming, why would they have focused on it so early

Hey everyone,
First, an update on the games crashing after loading and the team has been working hard on a fix. Thanks to some awesome Engineering and QA triage, we think we've found the issue and the fix is pending and will redeploy it as soon as it's ready (looking like tomorrow).
On World's Patch Balance, wanted to give a bit more context around some of the changes this patch
Our Philosophy
Around major tournaments, which is about 4-5 patches a year out of 24 (First Stand, MSI, Worlds), we pay a bit more attention to Pro Play.
For Esports fans, players, teams, Worlds is the biggest moment of the year. People fly out from all over the World to watch and an entire ecosystem is relying on us to make sure that it is awesome.
At the same time, we want to strike the balance between serving regular play well and also making sure Esports fans and players are well served.
We don't make that tradeoff lightly. We know how painful it is if you're not an Esports fan and sitting down to play some League, only to run into a champion that feels like it shouldn't have been buffed, or if you're a main of a pro jailed 46% winrate champion, only for it to be nerfed again for a few patches. We empathize deeply and it sucks (I also unfortunately main some of these champions 😭).
At the same time, we hope y'all can empathize with our position too; our goal is to make League the best game and sometimes that means needing to take some tradeoffs on perfect balance to help League thrive overall.
Not expecting this to result in "thanks Riot, we really love the changes now!👍" but just wanting to put out some additional context for the changes we are making and share back some early results.
The Changes
In order to make the most vibrant Worlds meta we can, we wanted to focus on a few things; archetype diversity in lanes, team comp breadth (scaling, splitting, teamfighting, early game, etc.) and staleness.
We typically opt for 2 buff strategies, one is a winrate neutral change that buffs pro characteristics, and others are straight buffs where we feel like their winrate is deceptive (typically when they have a shallow mastery curve) or could float on the strong side of balanced for a while, especially if they haven't been perceived as strong for some time. We try to avoid buffing a champ straight into overpowered territory.
And to be clear, I was pushing for basically all of these, so please be kind to Phreak and others about them. I'm happy to take responsibility for them and answer any questions
Jax
- When we look at the top meta, there's a lot of different champs that are viable, but one archtype is missing.
- Scaling AD fighter isn't present; there's some AD fighters there (Renekton, Ambessa, etc.), but not ones that you're super happy to have gold on that can carry later
- We feel that it's important that this type of champion is present in the Worlds meta, because it allows teams to play through Top and also allow for more comp diversity
- We didn't think the changes would have a large winrate impact, but would be impactful in swinging certain matchups.
- Just in case, we compensated with some base health nerfs to make him a bit more vulnerable until he reached his level 6 spike
- At least on the games we're seeing on the new patch, we don't see much of a winrate impact, but still want to have the overall top meta feel more varied
Corki & Sivir
- Corki is in a bit of a rough state; he's already weak for regular players, but he's been pretty stale for most of the year, and same with Sivir
Jinx
- Jinx is one of the shallow mastery curve cases; we think at 52% that she's not considered overpowered, just appropriately strong given that she doesn't gain that much winrate when people play a ton of games on her (3-4%)
- The range buff at early levels is intended to help her out in some of those lanes, but not really affect her overall scaling profile
Leblanc
- Leblanc has been pretty worse for wear for a while, especially in these HP heavy metas.
- A 1% buff to Leblanc puts her in strong territory for SoloQ; but this is one where we feel like options for pure Mid assassin choices are pretty slim (only really Akali)
- Her seeing play makes Worlds a whole lot more exciting, especially amongst a meta that is heavily run by champs with a lot of defenses (either inbuilt or itemization)
Lillia, Diana, Brand
- On these champs, there just aren't a lot of AP junglers that are viable
- This puts a pretty big hamstring on being able to play AD mids or otherwise counterbalance a comp
- We also feel that for all these 3 champs, they're just a bit weak in jungle and feel like a buff is justified
Lee Sin
- Finally for Lee Sin, we want to deliver a change that's power neutral, but makes his early game more explosive for those skirmishes and jungle fights
- So far it looks about on target, but we know that Lee Sin's balance state is pretty sensitive; this is one where we're trying to skew power neutral
Thanks for listening; in the future we'll do better to lay out our overall philosophy in future tournament patches and thank you for keeping it real with us.

Hi everyone,
Patch 25.5 is going to be the patch for First Stand and more Pro focused
Atakhan
- In patch 25.4, we increased the occurrence rate of Ruinous in Pro; so far results have been promising; around half of the games in LPL (the only major region on 25.4) have been Ruinous.
- We intend for around 60% of games to be Ruinous in Pro while not completely removing it for Solo Q
Lane Swaps
- Adjustments today are to remove some of the edge cases, like deep proxy-ing, various lane shift strategies and giving better warnings for players about to incidentally run into the penalty playing innocently
- We're increasing the mid penalty time back to 3:30 just to avoid any shenanigans for First Stand and are open to relaxing it a bit after that if the changes are proven to work, to avoid overly hitting soloQ
- As mentioned earlier, please don't bother trying to grief people in soloQ with this, we will detect this and punish you
- We're also adding a warning area to inform players that they will enter the zone right before they're penalized (it is also very loud if triggered)
Pro Balance
- We're going a little heavier on nerfs this patch; we overshot on Ashe so pulling some of that back. Outside of Ashe and Aphelios, we're not really looking to shake up ADC meta that much as it will likely change post lane swaps
- Some of the high presence Pro options we're also tapping down to make the meta a bit more vibrant for First Stand, but overall we're pretty happy with how the meta is looking going into the tournament
Runes
- We're buffing some of the weaker options here, like Sixth Sense and Unflinching, while pulling some of the power out of Axiom
- It's a little too strong in particularly its best cases, but also just overall
- We're still discussing internally the interaction of things like true damage, damage amps and better defining our principles around them
- With the intersections of highly impactful systems and content that is meaningfully influenced by it on the top end (eg. GarenR), we either change the systems or the content, but need to be careful of only balancing around that particular top end interaction
- Will let you know when we have more to share here
