Many of our policemen in that area are worse than terrorists. They don’t have regards for anyone including Police Officers from different state. I remember my encounter with them in 2016 when I was going to Bayelsa State to deliver a tokunbo school bus. As a retired Police officer, I came down from the vehicle to talk with them but they were threatening me with their riffles and they embarrassed another Police officer (MOPOL) in uniform in my presence. Every police officer and customs from Osun State to Ondo State to Edo State cooperated with me once I show them the vehicle documents and my discharge papers from the Nigeria Police Force but these ones from Delta State refused and dragged myself and the driver to their police station. I had to paid N5K that day because they saw the fear in the driver who was a mechanic and they started telling him how many people they have sent to prison. Another worse set of people then were Bayelsa State internal revenue generating thugs called officers who knew nothing about the law and were expecting Tokunbo school bus to have Bayelsa State emblem on it. Many things aren’t right in Nigeria and it’s not just with the politicians but also with majority of our citizens.

Someone told me something last week that genuinely unsettled me. Her boyfriend's friend offered to connect her with freelance writing jobs. Presented it as a favour. Pure kindness. She was getting paid per article and was grateful. Until she met another freelancer doing the same job. Same company. Same articles. Getting paid £20 more per piece. It turns out he was invoicing the company the full amount and quietly keeping the difference. Every single article. For a full year. While collecting a full salary from the same company. He was never helping her. He was using her. And calling it a favour. Some people don't open doors for you. They stand in the doorway and charge you rent to pass through. Would you have confronted him or gone straight to the company?

Everything men ask from a woman costs nothing. -Respect. -Peace. -Loyalty. -Softness. And somehow, what costs nothing is still called "too much" BY MODERN FEMINISTS. 🥺
