the next AI race is robots, there is no doubt. & apparently, the best combo is AI x dePIN that's @realRiceAI $RICE is building that by fixing 1 thing holding back: data because the jump from chatbots to physical AI isn't about better models, it's about better data 🧵👇 you'll read: → the real bottleneck for AGI robots → what rice ai is building → how the reward system works → where minibot m1 fits in → rice ai's layered infra → the people behind rice ai ▫️the real bottleneck for agi robots robots still suck at basic stuff. things like grabbing a bottle, reacting to drops, or even navigating space. why? not the chips. not the algorithms. apparently it's a data problem. • most training data today is synthetic or tightly held by corps • very few robots out there = not enough real-world feedback • open-source robotics data? barely exists so even if we had the perfect AGI model, there's just not enough quality data to train it in a way that scales safely. ▫️what rice ai is building rice ai is betting everything on physical ai (not chatbots or image generation) real-world, embodied ai agents. but to get there, it needs 3 things: • decentralized robotics data • an incentive layer to grow it • and hardware to make it accessible the bet? build all 3 at once. ▫️how the reward system works this is where rice protocol kicks in. any robot plugged into the network earns $RICE tokens when it shares useful data. early contributors get a bigger cut since a chunk of the supply is allocated to bootstrap the system. this flips the usual ownership model. example: tesla collects your driving data. but you don't own any of it. w/ rice ai - if your robot trains the model, you get paid. and the whole thing runs on a DePIN infra - so no single corp controls it (dope af) ▫️where minibot m1 fits in picture it like this: problem: there aren't enough robots to collect data at scale. solution: build one. the minibot m1 is rice ai's answer: • companion robot anyone can use • fully integrated w/ rice protocol • rewards owners for usage & interaction but it's not just a hardware wallet w/ legs. m1 adapts to your behavior, mood & routines. it's gamified. it's programmable, & it pushes robotics adoption into the consumer layer. ▫️rice ai's layered infra under the hood, rice ai runs on a 4-layer structure: i) application layer - where users interact, provide data, or buy AI features ii) identity layer - uses DIC to verify participants iii) data layer - collects, classifies and hosts datasets + AI models iv) DePIN layer - handles smart contracts, GPU power, and storage the M1 bot plugs into this stack, sends real-world data upstream, and fuels model training + marketplace activity. ▫️the people behind rice ai rice ai comes out of hong kong. built by rice robotics - a startup founded in 2019 w/ over 500 robots deployed already. the team's young - mostly UC berkeley + chinese university grads. raised $7M in 2023, holds 13 patents, & already built fleet systems for commercial-scale robot deployment. they already manufacture hardware, and the rice protocol is the next phase. what are your thoughts about physical AI / AGI? do you think it's close by or too far into the future?
