@Mister_Shelby I think it’s pretty simple: many players were blocking the exit from the fishing village with their ships, which prevented everyone who bought boats from sailing out. The Rustoria admins solved this problem in this way — as you can see, they left an exit for boats.

@Alistair_McF In demanding locations, performance increased by +10–15 FPS, while in lighter areas, the gain was around +70 FPS. VRAM usage has grown significantly this month, which causes blurry textures for many players. Ryzen 7 9800X3D + RTX 4070 Ti.

Early results of this months performance optimizations are showing very strong results. Here is the daily player FPS of the whole player base.

We've recently taken big steps in Rust to improve performance for players on a range of hardware. 🖥️📈 In testing, we've seen a 50% reduction in VRAM usage on some setups, though results may vary depending on hardware. Read more on our DevBlog: rust.facepunch.com/news/meta-shift

@Alistair_McF As I can see, you’ve partially reverted the optimization that was previously implemented. I’m referring to the character optimization — in the latest October 3rd patch, it was disabled, and the FPS is now the same as it was after the September update.

Appreciate the feedback from the Rust update so far, it's a big change and will need some balancing. We'll be getting some fixes out this morning and looking at balance changes this afternoon. Early results of the performance improvements are coming in, very good results so far.
